2008 AFC West Overview

San Diego Chargers
Can the San Diego Chargers make it to the Super Bowl? One man will most likelySoccer jerseys determine that—LaDainian Tomlinson. As Tomlinson's health goes so too will the fortunes of his team. It's that simple.
Denver Broncos
Over the past two years, the Denver Broncos have let too many good players go, making them an unstable team. Although the offense has been improved, the Broncos are still not good enough to beat the elite NFL teams.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs will continue to be a team plagued by inconsistency. Coach Herm Edwards is rebuilding the club. But neither quarterbacks Damon Huard nor Brodie Croyle look to be the answer in the signal calling spot. Expect a sub-par season from this club.
Oakland Raiders
NFL icon Al Davis still owns and runs the Oakland Raiders, and that's not good. With a patchwork approach, Davis keeps the team on life support. QB JaMarcus Russel will finally have some pass catchers to which to throw. One big question is can Russel run an offense or does he need more seasoning?
Final Analysis
The AFC West is pretty much a one-team division. The Chargers will run away with the crown and, depending upon their ground attack, could run away with even more. Everyone else is looking forward to 2009.
Sunday, August 24, 2008 -- The San Diego Chargers should dominate the AFC West.
This is a division in which both Oakland and Kansas City look to post losing records and Denver will win less than 10 games. Almost by default, the crown goes to the Chargers.
2008 Finish and Record
1) San Diego Chargers (13- 3)
2) Denver Broncos (9-7)
3) Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)
4) Oakland Raiders (6-10)
