Italian veteran Luca Toni struck a second-half winner which sees AS Roma move within a point of leaders Inter, after a 2-1 victory over the Nerazzurri. Inter's injury-hit city rivals AC Milan, though, blew the chance to move within a point of the leaders after an unconvincing 1-1 draw with battling Lazio. NFL jerseys

In the race for Champions League football, Palermo kept up their good form with Fabrizio Miccoli hitting a hat-trick in their 3-1 victory over Bologna. Napoli also won, while Juventus survived an attack on their team bus from their fans before beating Atalanta 2-1 to stay in sixth ahead of Sampdoria.

Down the wrong end, Lazio's draw with Milan means they are five points ahead of the drop zone in 16th. 17th-placed Udinese lost 4-1 at Fiorentina to keep them nervous, but the bottom three of Atalanta, Siena and Livorno aren't doing enough to suggest they can survive.
